Singles
Some songs don't get put on an album. I'm sitting here thinking, "I should do something about that". Here I will include the singles and any associated reviews. Maybe even tell the story associated with the song.
Pity Parties
This came from a time my Mom went into the hospital. When my sister went to visit Mom said she wanted her to leave because, "she was having a pity party and those are better attended alone".
When I heard that I said, "That's a country song right there". I wrote the song over lunch.
Reviews:
The Concert Chronicles
This poignant and reflective country track that delves into the darker, more solitary side of emotional struggle. The lyrics of "Pity Parties" are a masterclass in storytelling, a hallmark of country music. Gray's use of the term "pity party" is both clever and relatable, evoking the idea of indulging in self-pity while also acknowledging the often solitary nature of such moments.

A very original track. The performance is remarkably sensitive and deeply emotional. Particularly noteworthy is the wonderful acoustic solo accompaniment and the delicate sound of the piano, which gives the song a special atmosphere.
